Tom the Turkey One day, I was raking the leaves Thanksgiving morning. Alas, I heard a peculiar sound. It was talking. I found Tom the Turkey! So he said he wanted to fly. So Zeus popped up and brings a pair of wings. He said they were indestructible. Zues sternly said to not fly too high.
So Tom took he wings and but them on. Eventually, he flew a little to flimsy. As soon he put them on he flew magically. Tom bragged in his friends face. His friend was in frustration. Tom said “Finally, I have triumph to fly!"
His friends muffled, snorted, and had a tantrum sadly. But the whole barn applauded for him. Suddenly, the wings collapsed and fell off one by one. Since his friends were not tolerant they let Tom die.

Tom the turkey
Tom the turkey knew he had to act fast. Thanksgiving was two days away! He had to save his flock. What will he do!?

Ok I said pacing. How will I do it he thought? Let’s see are any of the bolts lose? I think I should ask Fen the hen. I asked Fen to help. She said “I’m a hen I don’t get ate for Thanksgiving; I’m not going to help you.”

Arrrg I said impatiently. I was think how I was going to save the flock. It was feeding time. The feeder came in. He saw that I was pecking at the fence. He said, “Get away! We don’t want you to have splinters when we eat you!”

I started to cry. I knew I had to do something quick. Thanks giving were one day away! Should we got to Turkyoplious? I don’t know said Bob.

Everyone I said we are going to need an escape plan. Everyone said we should go to Turkyoplious. I got all the turkeys together and we rammed it. It didn’t work. One more time said Bob. We did it and we were out in Turkyoplious!

Tom Saves His Flock

Tom the turkey knew he had a little time to act. Thanksgiving was two weeks away, and somehow he had to save his flock. What was he going to do?

First, Tom found his family. Then, he tried to open the gate and then he got it open. Next, he looked for the farmer and sneaked away from him. His family got away from the woods, but Tom didn’t escape. His family left him all alone.

Second, Tom looked for his family. The farmer’s eyes were looking at Tom. Tom couldn’t escape. He looked for an exit, but he couldn’t find one.

Finally, Tom’s family found him. They distracted the farmer while tom went into the woods. The farmer got bored and went inside the barn. Then, Tom ran away with his family. The farmer never noticed that they were gone.

The End

Dear Nicole,

This summer I went to San Diego. I was at Lego Land, The San Diego Zoo, The Wild Animal Park, Sea World, all of the missions in California, and Sea Life. Lego Land was the best place I went this summer. The rides were awesome, and I went of all of the rides that I could and I had so much fun there. The San Diego Zoo was super cool because the animals are pretty because of the shape, size, and color. The Wild Animal Park was cool for the same reasons. Sea World was cool because the animals were so cool to see.

                                                               Sincerely,

The Day with Ahmad

One morning, I was arriving to school and I saw Ahmad sitting at a table. He seemed to be waiting for someone. I went to greet him, but he ran away. I guess he was shy, so I decided to follow him. It took a while to catch up to him and then I explained that we were in the same class. I said I could show him around school. He agreed and we went to see our classroom. After showing him his cubby, the bell rang, signaling it was time for class.

At recess, I took Ahmad to the baseball and soccer fields. He smiled and said he loved playing sports. Next, we walked across the black top to the cafeteria, but the bell rang so our tour was cut short again. Our class lined up and we walked to Room 3.

At the end of the day, Ahmed came up to me and said he had the greatest day of his life. The bell rang and we said goodbye.

Death Falls Camp

Gabrielle Davis September 11, 2009
Mr. Davis’ 4th Grade

Dear Yahsmeene,

I went to a place called Death Falls Camp in Ohio. I went there by bus. It took one week to get there. On the way there, we stopped by our Aunt Lina and Uncle Larry’s. They took us to a scary and creepy graveyard that was in their backyard. Some of the gravestones we saw had the names of their children that went to Death Falls Camp and died mysteriously. The only reason I went to my Aunt and Uncle’s was because my parents wanted me to learn a lesson of not going into dangerous places.

When we arrived at Death Falls Camp, I was totally creeped out by the waterfall that had a skull and crossbones floating in midair behind it. When I told others to look at the waterfall, the skull and crossbones disappeared. There is a legend that there are tiny little creatures that live in the water. The legend says that if you go into the water, that you will be eaten up and turn into one of them. My parents and the other children that came to the camp told me to not go into the water. I did not go into the water!! But other children did to see if the legend was true. All of the children that went into the water died and the water turned red.

After we left the camp, my parents told me that they were watching me but I did not know. They told me that I learned my lesson because there were dangerous things around me that I avoided. They were glad that I didn’t die from going into the water after I had been told not to. Now they trust me not to do dangerous things.

You’re Friend,

Gabrielle

A Day at Pony Express with Ahmad

I had a great day at Pony Express with Ahmad when Ahmad beat everyone in kickball. People got so jealous they told on us for no reason, but it didn’t work. We went to explore the halls because Ahmad hit three balls over the fence, so I showed him all about the school. I still feel that I should’ve done that first though. Fortunately, he was smart and already knew the classrooms already.

I showed him my former classes where I started GATE. I also told him about other classes too, like the ones we are going to be in. They are Mrs. Sanamadi and Mrs. Melvin. They all had different characteristics like different signs, less computers, less posters, and not that much computers as us. We were about to go to others, but the bell rang, so we went back to class. You can tell Ahmad didn’t want to come back to class.

When we entered the classroom, it was really dark I thought there was a blackout at first. I tried to reach the light switch, but I couldn’t find it. At last, Ahmad opened the light. We thought it was empty, but the class was under the desks and yelled, “Welcome Ahmad!!!!” After that day, Ahmad wasn’t depressed anymore again.

This morning I came to school assigned to show Ahmad and not be rude to him. When we went outside having a fun time playing outside. All of a sudden cats and dogs started raining from the sky. We had to take cover in the classroom. Everybody was going insane when we got inside. Ahmad asked me “Is it always like this?” “No.” I replied. The cats and dogs got in. We had to stand on top of our desks as the cats and dogs lay there the floor. Ahmad turned on the radio. It annoyed the cats and dogs so much that one by one they escaped through the door. We all applauded Ahmad and shouted horray for him. When he got home he had a big fat smile.

A Day With Ahmad

Its Ahmad and my first day of school. We had a picnic and you ate all the food! You were so full that you blew up! You were all over us. You got put back together. You got sent to the office for eating all the food. Went to class and Mr. Davis said “hello Ahmad welcome to our class.” We went to recess and played wall ball. That was the worst day of school.

I invited you over my house. We played video games. I taught you how to skateboard. You were better than me! We went swimming, you didn’t know how so I taught you.

That night I asked if you could sleep over. We stayed up all night and ate junk food. You didn’t know what it tasted like so I said just try it. I’m glad you moved here!
