The New Students are Wackos

Ok, new students are weird sometimes, but one day two students were scaring me like owning eight monkeys and nine bananas. They were Louis and Mrs. Zarves, both adults from Wayside School. They came to our class because they couldn’t read. They became so involved in the history of the pencil that they forgot how to read! So…hear the whole story…

“Everyone, this is Mrs. Zarves and Louis,” our teacher, Mr. D said. Next to him was a man with a moustache all the colors of the rainbow. But where was Mrs. Zarves?! When I asked, Mr. D replied, “Oh dear! I’m afraid she’s absent. Louis and Mrs. Zarves, wherever she is, are both from Wayside School! Louis was the yard teacher.” Louis wheeled in a ball cart, and balls started bouncing everywhere!!!!

“Mr. D, why does Louis have a huge, bushy moustache?” Jona Mae said.

“Be quiet. Hmmmmm…. Chloe! Show Louis around during recess.” I agreed, but Louis did have a weird moustache.

When the recess bell rang, Louis zipped away. I bounded around in the hallways, looking for him. “Lou-is!” I called.

I turned to the one place I hadn’t looked: the dreaded Doom Alley. We call it Doom Alley because it’s dark, smelly, gunky, and Carol Ausburn went in there once and never came out. Carol’s sister, Marlye Ausburn, went in to look for her, and came out with one arm.

I stepped in. I had to find Louis. I grabbed a flashlight and shined it. I heard… no… what?!… it can’t be…. Nuh-uh!!…a…smooching sound?!!? What?! I lit my path until I found Louis, making out with…air????!!!!

“Oh, Zarves, honey, I love the fact that we finally have some alone time.” The recess bell rang. “Oh, it was nice while it lasted.”

The next day, Mrs. Zarves was absent. Again. Then the next day. Then again Until she was absent for a whole month! Actually, I never, EVER, saw Mrs. Zarves!!

So, as you can see, new students aren’t always exactly normal. But, hey, you gotta get used to it.

Mrs. … WHO?!

One day, I was playing in my front yard when I suddenly saw Mrs. Hardlick and Miss Turbone! I went into my backyard to get my green and shiny bike. I came out and rode down the drive way and turned the corner. Unluckily, Mrs. Hardlick and Miss Turbone had already gone too far. I finally found them sitting on bench. They were both sweating while drinking, GO GIRL! I asked them where they were going and they said Our Elementary School! Suddenly, I saw Jona Mae and I crossed the street to go right next to her. I said,
”Hey Jona Mae! Guess who I saw!”
“What, You saw Mrs. Hardlick and Miss Turbone. Ha! Ha! Ha!” said Jona Mae.
“Oh my goodness! Y- Y- Yu- YUP! I said.
“Where did they go?”
“They are headed to school!”
“I’ll follow you.”
So Jona Mae and I biked to Pony. We went into the cafeteria. Suddenly, we saw Miss Turbone and Mrs. Hardlick each beside one Special Ed. Jona Mae and I got off of our bikes, ran toward the Special Eds, picked them up, and ran out the door. Jona Mae and I locked the Special Ed’s in their room. While Mrs. Hardlick and Miss Turbone ran after us, they noticed that they would have to cancel the showdown.
Quickly, Jona Mae and I locked ourselves in Mr. D’s room. Mr. D was there and when ha saw Miss Turbone; he opened the door and asked her out. Miss Turbone nearly fainted until Mr. D caught her, and she said YES!
Later, Abel came to our school and saw Mr. D and Miss Turbone, KISSING?! Abel ran at Mr. and tackled him down, but Mr. D kicked Abel in the face ten times. Abel ran away and then came back in his GARBAGE TRUCK! Well, everyone already knew that Abel was really trying to KILL Mr. D with the thingy-thing. Luckily, Mr. D kept on rolling around to dodge the thing.
Meanwhile….
Jona Mae and I had our mouths open because of all the excitement.
Meanwhile…
Mr. D pushed Jona Mae and me out of the way when Abel broke our door down with the “thing”! Then, Abel left us and asked MRS. HARDLICK OUT! Abel just remembered that she was married and left her. Abel watched jealously and enviously at Mr. D and Miss Turbone.

My Crazy Day

Hi my name is Micah A. B. I’m here to tell you about my crazy day. First two new kids came to school. Their names were Todd and Kathy. Kathy hated everyone. When she saw someone she would say you’re dumb or you’re ugly.
The first recess everybody in our class formed an angry mob against Kathy. We ran and ran as fast as we could. We ran and ran. Suddenly we were cornered. We did a weird thing we ran at them and we slid. We made it through the angry mob.
After recess Todd in class talked a little and he automatically got in trouble. He kept on doing that so he kept on getting in trouble. Soon he had to go outside of the classroom. After that Todd decided to explore.
When I came out Todd was gone. I thought he was here a minute ago. I had to look everywhere. I didn’t find Todd. Finally I found Todd on the playground. I took him back to our class.
Todd at lunch made lunch a feast so he could feed everyone. Soon everybody had a huge meal and then… Todd woke up from his sleep.
The lunch recess Todd some how messed up the playground. When I got there the playground had nothing on it. When I looked at the soccer field there were the monkey bars. When I looked at the kickball field there was the swirl slide with the other one too. When I looked at the baseball field there were the normal slides.
At the end of the day Todd fixed everything. He switched the playground back and he got his name erased.

My Field Trip Danny E.

Hi! I’m Danny! This is my Field trip to the forest. On the bus next to me is Todd and on the other side is Gary.
When we were on the bus Todd was looking out the window, then all of a sudden a giant huge bee that grabbed onto Todd’s head and tried yank him out! Gary grabbed a bus seat and threw it at the bee literally, then I yanked Todd back in.
Once we got to the forest, we saw Mrs. Gorf! >:-{
.:-:. Frog….. We ran away to the nearest barn. We saw some pitch forks right next to us………>:-} …… We had an idea…
We ran after Mrs. Gorf with our pitchforks. She was so scared that she ran away, but it wasn’t over. She came back with 2, 000, 720, 001, 700, 871, 009, 249, 111, 111, 111, 800, 400, 901 of her evil witchy friends. We had to run! ……We are not wimps. I know you were thinking that! Well what would you do?
We got all the kids on the bus which is 2, 000, 720, 001, 700, 871, 009, 247, 111, 111, 111, 800, 400, 902! The team of Mrs. Gorfs were too frightened to fight! Mrs. Gorf got one more person. The kids got a teacher! The kids and the teacher charged after the Mrs. Gorfs.
They are as gone as pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving!

Thanks lord for the kids! Unfortunately we missed the bus and the bus drive saw us and thought we were Mrs. Gorf. Well, we got chased by the school bus all the way back to school.
We were so furious that when we got back we beat up the bus driver. We also helped out Todd and blew up the kinder garden bus.

Angeline’s Day

One day, my teacher, Mr.D, said that we are going to have some two new students.
“Class, I told you we were having two new students…so…here they are. Welcome to class Angeline and Louis. Say hello class,” Mr.D said.
“Welcome Angeline and Louis…”the class said.
“Hey! Why is Louis so TALL!!!???”’ a girl named Jennifer said. Jennifer was my friend.
“Well, he got held back…actually he didn’t go to school, so he’s starting at fourth grade,” Mr.D said, “Now let’s do geography!”
“I love geography!” I said.
“What is the capital of Puerto Rico?” Mr.D asked.
“San Juan!” I said.
“Correct,” Mr.D said, “Now Louis what is the capital of California?”
“Umm…I don’t know…clock?” Louis said.
“No it’s Los-I mean Sacramento,” Mr.D said with a sigh.
“Now let’s work on math after lunch,” Mr.D said.
“Hey! Chloe can you pass this to Louis?” Angeline said.
“Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…Sure,” Chloe said.
So, Chloe passed the note to Louis and it said…

YOU’RE DUMB!
“Mr.D, Mr.D, Mr.D!!!”
“Yes, Louis?”
“Angeline said I’m dumb!” Louis said.
“Angeline did you say Louis is dumb?” Mr.D said.
“NO!” shouted Angeline furiously. And, she quickly. Why me I didn’t do it!” and then she snatched the note from him.
Later on that day, Angeline kept playing tricks on Louis and never got caught! All day she acted like a trouble maker. When Louis told on her she would not get caught. Like at recess she hit Louis with a ball on purpose and with a bat .
After School…
Angeline and I were IM chatting on the computer.

Well, now I’m really board and I think I’m done talking 2 U.TTFN.

The Next Day…

“Today we are going to do is…GREEK MYTHS!!!” Mr.D said.
“(GROAN)” yelled everybody.
“Yay!” yelled Angeline.
“Now,” said Mr.D,”Let’s watch a video about Demeter and her daughter, Persephone.”
And then he played a video… “(snore)” everybody did.
Then happy music played and then… dramatic music…then blah, blah, blah…

“Angeline, Angeline!!!” a voice said “It’s time for school,” her dad said.
“WOW what a dream!” she said and everything’s normal.

Mrs. Gorf is Back

Once there was a horrible teacher named Mrs. Gorf. She came to Mrs. Jewls class to substitute, but know she is my substitute!!!
She came on April 5th 2007.The Worst Day Ever!!! Mr.
The next day, Mrs. Gorf came into the classroom with a polite face. Chloe came up to the classroom and gave her an apple for a welcome to our classroom she politely put the apple on Mr. D desk. Evan started to talk and he had to write 2,000,000 sentences. If he didn’t finish by recess he would be turned into an apple and yet he got turned into an apple. The girls were the only one left. When we past the table with all the apples, Jona Mae wanted to eat them. We said they were sour for the boys who were really mean. We walked to lunch.
We ate lunch with no boys, no interruptions, no noise. It was quiet nobody talked AT ALL. We were all thinking of a plan to get rid of Mrs. Gorf. We thought of a million plans. At recess we tested them none of them worked except one I made. It was red ribbon week and a garbage truck driver is coming to tell us why he doesn’t smoke.
The guys name was Gus. This is what we heard him say: Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, and Blah. Everyone was asleep by the end of the presentation. Jona Mae said he stinks and has an F- in style. Mrs. Gorf woke up when he passed the desk (that’s how bad he stank!!) When Mrs. Gorf woke up she was red in the face. She was red in the face. She was sleepwalking!!!!!!! She was zapping everything in her sleep!!!! She zapped Chloe’s chair into an apple and Kimaya’s too. She was about to zap me, when it bounced off the folder Kimaya was holding and right back to Mrs. Gorf and bit by bit she turned into an apple. Before she turned into an apple she screamed,
“I’ll be back!!” When she left, the boys turned back to normal. All that was left was an apple on Mr. D’s desk and dust.
When Mr. D came back he ate the apple and not the one Chloe brought!!

The Wacky Stories of Our School

One day two new kids came to our school. Their names were Todd and Kathy. Todd was real nice and always got in trouble, on the first day of school he put his socks on his ears,(Strike 1) Then he talked out of turn,(Strike 2) then he wouldn’t do the sentences,(Strike 3 your outt’a there) and he got sent home on the kindergarten bus. Kathy doesn’t like anyone for certain reasons: She doesn’t like me because my front teeth are too big, she doesn’t like Micah (The Boy Micah) because his head is too round, she doesn’t like Riley because he is too small she doesn’t like Kweku because he laughs too much, she doesn’t like Arthur because he’s too fast, she doesn’t like John Michael because he is too annoying, she doesn’t like Mr. D. because he’s too nice, she doesn’t like Jackie because she is too happy, and she doesn’t like Darrington because he’s too stugly. The next day Mr. D. told us we had to do a spelling test Todd said no and Kathy thought it had too many letters. Todd said no to the math test and Kathy thought it had too many numbers & letters. Since Todd and Kathy didn’t do their work they were sent to School Solitary Confinement. Todd and Kathy started talking, and they figured out they had a lot in common. After they got out of confinement they started to hang out together. They started loving each other (I saw them kissing ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.) I heard they were going to get married. (ew) I spied on them and the rumor was true. I went home and went to bed. I cried and then thought of the perfect plan to break them up. I told Kathy Todd liked someone else and I told Todd Kathy liked someone else. They got in a fight and never spoke to each other ever again. Todd actually did have someone else… Mauricia

Crazy Love

One hot day a man named Cool Breezer sat on a chair next to the river. He held a bottle of whiskey in his hand. He was a poor man searching for a woman to spend the rest of his life with, but every time he turned around people plugged their noses and walked away.

Cool Breezer was walking around when he saw the woman of his dreams. Cool Breezer stopped her.
“What is your name”? He asked
“Melissa “, she replied.
“That’s a pretty name”, said Cool Breezer.
“Thank you”, said Melissa.
“What is your name”? Said Melissa
“Bye”, said Melissa.
“Bye”, said Cool Breezer.
“Where do you work”? Asked Cool Breezer
“Elementary School”, said Melissa
“Can I come tomorrow?” Asked Cool Breezer
“Sure”, said Melissa.

The next day Cool Breezer showed up.
Melissa was holding hands with Mr. D. The popular kid in school .He had all the girls in the school.

Cool Breezer looked at Patrick in a weird way . Right then he kissed Melissa.Cool Breezer got mad and walked away. Melissa went and talked to Cool Breezer.
After, a little bit he started to feel better. Him and Melissa never were a couple ,but they were just friends.And Mr. D still got all the girls except Melissa.

Where is Mrs. Gorf?

Hi! Kimaya here. My friend Angeline and I were walking to school. When we got to the front yard, we saw apples, frogs, and more apples. We knew it was Mrs. Gorf. We went to find Mrs. Gorf, she wasn’t anywhere. We looked up, down, turn around, Watch Out!
I think Mrs. Gorf was crazy. She was pointing her wand everywhere.
“Are you sure it’s Mrs. Gorf?” Angeline asked.
“I don’t think so!” I said.
“She’s not blinking or moving, Right?”
“Is she a robot clone, or is someone controlling her? Oh No!” said Angeline in a traumatic voice.
We were both scared. We were the only ones not apples. We need a plan. It was lunch time. We had no lunch but apples. Angeline and I were starving, so we ate an apple. Actually, they were pretty good after all. I ate like, five apples. Angeline drank salt water while I on thee other hand drank milk. I said,
“We should give her a quiz about the school”
“Fine.” Angeline said
We asked the clone everything. She got it right, she was very smart. We asked a million questions, literally. We tried pushing every button on her mechanical clothes. Then, we accidentally pressed UNDO . I was scared. We closed our eyes. Then, I heard Kimaya and Angeline put your name on the board under the word discipline. We never found out where she went. I’d better start on my scentences.

Mrs.Gorf + Our School = TROUBLE!!!

Once upon a time there was a school. It was a weird school because of the weird teachers. One of the teachers cut off peoples pony tails. She really does! She showed me one of them. But my teacher was weird too, because he would always pick on us children. But he is still and always will be the nice person he is. So since he is so nice he was doing something for his family. He told us we would have a substitute. We all said OH NO! We asked who it was going to be but he didn’t know who it was. He told us that we couldn’t have computer class.
The next day we came to school, we weren’t happy to see who it was! Oh and did I tell you we had got a new student named Angeline ,but that’s a different story. We all knew who the substitute was, but Angeline didn’t. We thought she would figure it out sooner or later. When we got into the classroom we all sat down quietly. For the fist time in a while there was silence in the room, besides her teaching. Suddenly Darrington started to talk, guess what happened?! She said we could go out to recess early…We all went out but she told Darrington to stay. First she wiggled her right ear then her left, then her nose. Then an apple on her desk sat Darrington.
We all came in from recess very quietly.(tip-toe tip-toe). Mrs.Gorf for some reason thanked Angeline, and gave her the apple. She soon took a bite, she said “Ew this apple must be rotten!” said Angeline. Daniel N. finally noticed that Darrington was gone. We all cheered silently. She felt she had a curse, so she just started to look at this boy named Charles. He started to feel dumb. He didn’t know why, soon he did. So for the rest of the day, we became quiet.
The next day, we came to school, glad Mrs. Gorf was gone! When we came to the line, guess who was there?! Mrs. Gorf! For some reason, she was acting really nice. She said we could do anything we wanted to do. So we just sat in our seats. She said we could get on Myspace if we wanted to. But since Charles was dumb, he got on the computer. He got turned into a fly because Mrs. Gorf could turn into a frog. She did so she ate Charles. That day, I think that Angeline figured out who Mrs. Gorf was. Then, she just started to transform into stuff. It was very weird, so then we came the next day. And the next, and the next. Mr. D never came back to school…

The weird day

Ok everyone sit down said Louis. No!!!!!!! Said Todd Put your name on the board said Louis. And Angeline tossed a chair across the room and then it hit Louis on the head Angeline go to the office said Louis . Bebe pulled a bebe gun out and shot in the air. Louis didn’t know who shot the bebe but everyone stopped then Louis run to the phone and then everyone was bad. Then the principal came Angeline go to my office.
Louis said that you thru a chair at his head is that true. Yes. Call your parents and tell then you are suspended. Angeline she started to cry.
At lunch people wondered what happened to Angeline. The would say that attend by the principal. I knew she either got suspended or expelled. We all got a plane to give Louis a hard time Bebe you shoot the phone and break it, Todd lock the door so he cant get out, Garry put a cloth over his head so he cant see, and I will cover the camera so the principal cant see what we are doing. Ok everyone know what they are suppose to do.

When we got to class Louis said Todd, Bebe, Garry, Daniel put your name on the board . I Know what your plane was , Chris told me . At the end of the day I spit my gum on the floor.

Crazy Day
Hi! My name is Arthur and I’m gonna to tell you about my crazy day with Louis Sacher’s characters. They are Todd from Wayside School and Angeline from Someday Angeline. One day I was on problem 16 on Math Saxon 65 when Todd and Angeline came and sat right next to me. Todd on the left, Angeline on the right. So I went back to my work. Then all of a sudden, Todd started to act weird and Angeline got up and went to Type To Learn. 20 minutes later Angeline was done with it. So she went Orchard Gold Star. She did so well that it overloaded the program! So them she went to the playground to play. When I was done, I saw a remote attached to Todd. I pulled it off and pressed fast forward. Todd then doubled his speed! So then I pressed super slow. Then Todd acted really slow! Then I pressed rewind. What do you know, Todd rewinded his work by erasing! This was getting to strange to be true. Anyway…
3 weeks later, Todd and Angeline were transferred to another school. I was relived. It has been a crazy week you know.

Louis and Mrs. Jewels

Once there were people called Lewis and Mrs. Jewels who came from Wayside School and went to 4th grade Mr. D’s class. That was a problem. They were secretly in love. Ooh la-la. They were bad teachers. They always kissed in class. Soon everyone started kissing everyone. Everyone except Kweku. They also don’t know how to do Language Arts, read, or math, so the students didn’t earn anything. At the end of the day, the room was filthy. They both thought 2+2=fish. They thought the word one spelled on. They told the kids parents at the conference “Don’t you think are room is clean.” the room was piled to the ceiling with trash. It turns out they were actually bad guys going to kidnap the kids. Luckily Kweku was a spy. He did not no they were kidnappers. This is extreme. Luckily Kweku had a tracking device. He tracked down where they lived. He went to there house. They lived on 9494 Mack Rd. Kweku went to their house. He didn’t no there were traps at their house. Their was a sensor. Whenever someone comes the sensor doesn’t know a net comes over them and they get stuck. Kweku went and the sensor didn’t no him! he got stuck in the net! Luckily he had a cell phone. He called all the students of Mr. D’s class. All the girls including John Michael got stuck. The rest of the boys didn’t. They worked together to barge the door open. They found Louis and Mrs. Jewels. Micah was so strong he held Mrs. Jewels and Lewis to the wall. He made them surrender. Luckily John Michael had teleporting power. He got out of the net and got all the girls out.

The Crazy Day

There was a crazy day in the history in my school. Todd and Gary came to our school. That was when things got crazy.

The school went topsy- turvy literally. Every body –except me and my friends except Nathan-were kissing the girls. There was also a mix up in the computer. Todd and Gary were pulled out of the computer. It was up to me to get them back into the computer.

I started with Gary. I asked his friends where he was. He was playing Tic-Tack-Use Nathan as a Stick. He really hates Nathan. It took me 5 minutes to get back to the computer and digitize him. Then things got a lot better.

Now I went to the classroom. My teacher knows where Todd usually plays at. She told me to go to the wall ball court. I went there and I didn’t find him there. I asked people where Todd has gone. He went to play soccer. I took him to the computer. I digitized him and everything went back to normal.

THE EVIL SUBSTITUTE CALLED Mrs. Gorf
One day all the teachers were apples. So all the, kids’ had substitutes. The bad thing was that we had Mrs.Gorf. We liked to call her Mrs.Frog because she could transform into a frog. Her pet was a moving dead rat named Sammy. Every day she turned five of us into apples. Then she feeds them to Sammy. One day I went to the principal to tell her about Mrs.Gorf. Five seconds later the principal is a apple. So I ran away as fast as I can. Then all the substitute are apples. Then I was the only one in class because they are faking they are sick. One hour later I was still not a apple because I was following directions. Then Mrs.Gorf was sick so I had day off. I was getting equipment to protect myself from Mrs.Gorf. Then I played video games. The next day a wall of mirrors were around me. It was gigantic cube of mirrors. Then she wiggled both of her ears and stuck her tongue. Then she was apple and Sammy ate her then he ran away.

One day, room 3 was doing a spelling test, when the principal came in with two kids. “Class, there are two new students joining you today. Their names are Angeline and Todd,” said the principal. Angeline and Todd stared at the candy jar. “Oooooooooohhh,” they said together and ran to the jar, and ate ALL the candy. “BUUUUUUUURRRRRPP!!!!!” they said together.

Once it was recess, Angeline and Todd ran to the ball basket and grabbed all the balls, and BIT them all. Everyone was angry, especially the principal. Then they went to the play structure, and DESTROYED it. Everyone was angry this time, and the principal was three times angry then the last time. After that, they had to go on the spot.

Next recess, they brought fireworks. They took out some sparklers, and burned down room 4! Then they took out three more fireworks, and almost blew up the classroom! The principal was so angry, that she expelled them both!

Todd and Mauricia’s big adventure

One day Todd and Mauricia were walking outside at school when a big satellite crashed. Todd and Mauricia were so scared and about to scream! The aliens were trying to take over the school. The school might be taken over by aliens. Todd and Mauricia didn’t know what to do. Mauricia was so scared she kissed Todd! All of a sudden, Todd and Mauricia felt strength. Todd could run super fast and had x-ray vision. Mauricia had super strength and could fly. They knew what it was. Super powers. Mauricia took a boulder and threw it at the aliens. Todd burned them with his x-ray vision. The aliens took out their ray guns and fired them. Todd and Mauricia kept dodging the bullets. Todd used his speed and stole the guns. Then, Mauricia picked up the satellite and threw it. All the aliens were gone but one. It was the chief alien. His name was Doble. Mauricia punched the alien and injured it a lot, but not enough. Todd burned Doble and injured him, but still not enough. The alien shot a bullet at Todd and hit him! IT injured him a lot but enough. After Todd healed, Mauricia combined her attack with Todd’s attack and finished off the alien. Everyone cheered for Todd and Mauricia. Todd and Mauricia were glad that they were finished fighting the aliens.

Angeline and Gary
Angeline and Gary were supernatural kids and don’t even know it. One day they were kicked out of their school because the roof collapsed on their classroom. Their parents Found a school good enough. The schools name was Wayside. Once they were inside they saw normal, regular looking people and then they met a boy named Todd. He was a nice person but a little weird though. When Angeline and Gary got to their classroom they met a lot of kids and each is as they were and that made Angeline and Gary very, very happy.
Angeline and Gary made a list or what they were going to do at school. First was class. Second was recess. Third was class again. Fourth was lunch. Fifth was P.E (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays). Fifth was class (still). Sixth was library (Fridays). Seventh was recess. Eighth was class (finally!). Last was to go home. When Angeline and Gary got the hang of it they got to their classes on time every time.
One day Gary was late and Broke he and Angeline’s “on time” schedule, it made a big, planet size wormhole! Angeline knew that she and Gary had only a year to stop the wormhole. What they had to get within a year was a spaceship, space station, and a wormhole closer. After three years they built a space ship that has cannons, blasters, shields, and hangers to launch the fighters. After the next nine years they got the space station and the wormhole closer the wormhole was just about to suck up earth but just then Angeline and Gary threw the wormhole closer and saved the day. Angeline and Gary vowed never to be late again.
