Meet Ahmad Danny E.

Ahmad and me,

If I had to go with Ahmad every where, for his whole first day this is what I will show him. The first thing would be the bathroom because everyone needs to go. Next would be the water fountain. Everyone needs that too. Then I would show him the line so he doesn’t go in the wrong one. LQTM (laughs quietly to myself). Last I would introduce him to everyone I know. I hope his first day goes well.

On the intercom there was a voice calling Ahmad to the kinder garden yard. It turned out Ahmad’s sister was on the shelf and wouldn’t get off. I didn’t know Ahmad had a sister!??!………? Huh?

Once Ahmad ran into the girl’s bathroom but a teacher caught him and sent to the principle’s office. The principle asked what happened. I told her what happened instead of Ahmad because he was too shy. I told her,” Ahmad is new here and didn’t know the rules.” The principle understood and let Ahmad go.

When Ahmad found out about Book Fair he really wanted to go. He didn’t know he had to [pay for the book so he took it and left. Once the teacher caught him the teacher tried to yank it away but Ahmad wouldn’t let go. I asked him if he paid for it. He said,”….. No. Why?” “You have to pay for it.” I said. So Ahmad went to the Book Fair and paid for it. PSSHTT!! LQTM!!

At the end of the school day Ahmad ran to his mom. He was yelling,” Mom! Mom! I made a friend on my first day of school!” I was happy for him. He’s a good kid.

Ahmad’s First Day

One day a kid named Ahmad came to our school and I was supposed to show him around. We had to do a speed test and Ahmad didn’t know what to do, but he quickly figured it out and he did really good. I also showed him how to use the math book and math paper.

Then, it was time for recess. We played football after he learned he did good, but my team won. We also played basketball and soccer. It was really fun.

Next, we had lunch and Ahmad didn’t know where to sit. I told him where to sit and he sat down next to me. He told me he was scared because he hadn’t been around so many people without his mom. I told him not to worry because he had me. Finally the bell rung and we went home. I hope I will have another fun day with Ahmad tomorrow.

Ahmad’s First Day at School

By: Micah

Today was Ahmad’s first day at an American school. I was chosen to show Ahmad around. First I showed him the bathroom. Next I showed him where to put your homework when you finish it.
When recess started Ahmad saw people playing tetherball. He asked what they are playing. I told him it was called tetherball. Ahmad waited in the line to play. Then suddenly Ahmad beat the person he was facing. Ahmad was pretty good. He had a good arm. When I faced him he almost beat me.

When we came in from recess Mr. Davis had us start math. Once we finished math we did bulletin boards. Ahmad and I were on the same team. After, bulletin boards school ended. Then me and Ahmad said bye and went.

Ahmad and me

We have a new student in the class! His name is Ahmad. He is from Afghanistan. Suddenly, the intercom said that Ahmad must go to the kindergarten room. The teacher said to me to go with Ahmad.

When we got there, we saw everyone asleep [except Ahmad’s sister, Abida]. Abida was turned into a werewolf .She scared Ahmad. I used silver to make it disappear. Then I used a glove. She turned back to normal. I and Ahmad left after he came back.

We went to the office. We told Mrs. Brenda everything. She did not believe us. Suddenly, I remembered that I took a picture in the kindergarten room. She believed us and we went back to our class.

Ahmad
By: Jennifer S.
Can you believe that Ahmad made a big change by moving from Afghanistan to America? Well if you don’t know the answer then I’ll tell you the story!
One day, Ahmad went to school with his sister, Abida. Ahmad brought his sister to her new classroom. Ahmad went to his line to room three. Jennifer saw Ahmad and said,
“What are you doing?”
Ahmad was surprised but just said “waiting.”
“Waiting for what?”
“The teacher”
“You are supposed to play at recess while waiting for the teacher.”
“Oh!!!!!”
So Ahmad and his new friend just ran laps. When the bell rang Ahmad and Jennifer went to the line. When they went inside room three the P.A said,
“Ahmad, Ahmad Disanti please go to the kindergarten class.”
I went with Ahmad to his sister and figured out that his sister was scared of the teacher. I waited while Ahmad talked to his sister. When it was time for the last recess Mr. D asked me to show Ahmad around the school.
First, I showed him the cafeteria. Next, I showed him the bathroom and the office. Then, I showed him the soccer field. Finally, the bell rang and we went inside the classroom. For the rest of the day Ahmad had no more problems, had the whole class as his friend, and became the Mr. D’s pet!

Ahmad’s First Day
By Chloe

Being a new kid can be hard, believe me. You don’t just walk in and get a friend. So when Ahmad, the new kid from Afghanistan, walked in, he looked scared and worried. He looked like…a shy type of person. When I asked Mr. D about him, he asked me to show him around during recess. I nodded and told Ahmad. He still had that frightened expression on his face, but I could tell he was happy not to be alone.

When recess came, I took Ahmad out to the blacktop. He was unusually quiet. I showed him the playground with all the kids climbing around like little monkeys. He just stared. I waited for him to say something, but he was silent. So I introduced him to a few of my classmates. I showed him the soccer field, the basketball courts, the wall-ball courts, and the bathrooms all before the bell rang. We lined up.

In class we wrote about summer vacation. Ahmad was in Afghanistan at that time, so he wrote about his country, Afghanistan. He drew triangles and squares and all kind of shapes! Ahmad couldn’t write in English. So Mr. D gave him a book with dotted lines that Ahmad worked on. I think he really enjoyed it.

When it was time for math, we discovered that Ahmad couldn’t write numbers! Instead, he drew all kinds of lines; jagged lines, swirly lines, and crooked lines! So I taught him how to count and read in English. And then he taught me how to speak in Dari, the language that they speak in Afghanistan. When it was time to leave, I was sad to go home but happy that I had made a new friend!

Ahmad

Ahmad was very nervous. It was the first day of school. He got out of bed. He ate his Afghanistan breakfast. His sister then woke up. She had put her head scarf on Ahmad told Abida to take her head scarf off. Abida said “Never”. As she slapped Ahmad. Then she ate her breakfast.

It was time for school. Ahmad walked to school with Abida. Abida ran to school and left Ahmad behind. Ahmad made a friend on the way to school. His friend’s name was name was Luke. When Abida got to school a boy named Roger ripped her head scarf. They called Ahmad when he was learning a lot. Ahmad was furious. Ahmad marched to his sister’s classroom. Ahmad knew his sister had slapped Roger because she always did. Ahmad talked to Abida and she became friends with Roger.

Ahmad said sorry to me because he did not want to drag me into this mess. Then we became friends.

Ahmad and I

We have a new student in my class his name is Ahmad. He came here to get education. He was from Afghanistan. First, I introduced myself. After that, I showed him around the class.

Next, I told him the rules of this school. I also showed him how to line up. After that, we did some homework. Later, we went to recess. We played four square. I showed him how to play. He was very excited. He was also very good at it. After that, we went to help the teachers. I also picked up the trash. I told him that if you get a blue slip you would get candy from Mr. D. He never tried candy before, so he got a blue slip just in time when the bell rang. He went inside and put the blue slip on Mr. D’s desk.

Then he got a piece of candy which looked yummy to him. He got Willy Wonka. He bit it and he was satisfied with the taste. He decided from now on he would try to get some more blue slips. We did Writer’s Workshop when we went to the class room. After that, we went to lunch. His food was curry. I liked curry and he liked my food, so we traded. We also talked about what we were going to play at recess. We played a different game this time when we got out of the cafeteria. We played wall ball. I showed him how to play. He was good at it to.

Suddenly, a plane came and Ahmad said that we were going to be attacked by enemy forces. Then, I told him that it was just a plane you ride on. Later, we went back to the classroom when the bell rang. We did our math homework. Ahmad said it was too easy. After we finished we played Type to Learn on the computer. Ahmad enjoyed it, especially the games.

After we finished we went to recess. We played four square because he liked it better than wall ball. After the bell rang, Ahmad and I went in the classroom with the other students. We started to read books. Ahmad read The Ghost Kid. I read Rules. After that, we got out of school. Ahmad said to his mom that he met a friend named Nathan. He said that he was very nice.

After Ahmad comes to our classroom the class would greet him and treat him nicely. Next, I would show him the school campus. Then, I’ll show him what to do at the classroom. Finally, I’d tell him the playground rules.

Then I tell Ahmad the things to do and not to do. I would play with him at recess if he doesn’t have anyone to play with. Although Ahmad doesn’t know what we might play so I’ll teach him what kind of game that we are about to play.

Finally I’ll tell him about the school and the people who works for the school. Next, I would tell him about his new classmates and things the class will do. By Mark

Ahmad and Me

It was Ahmad’s first day at a new school. He was nervous. He sat in the back of the class. All he did was cry about his grandpa. He picked on me to show him around the school at recess.

When first recess came I showed him where everything was. I showed him what wall ball was, he was starting to be good. We were walking around and he saw this girl, her name was Salina. He started blushing I said “Do you think she is cute.” Ahmad said “Yes.” Salina came to where we were and she said hi to Ahmad. Ahmad blushed again. Ahmad screamed and thought it was a bomb. He ducked I said “That was just the bell.” “OK” Ahmad hesitated.

We were back in the class he was just learning print. He did not like to raise his hand because everyone would look at him. It was almost time for lunch. All he had was a half of sandwich and a drop of juice. The principal came to Ahmad he said “I’m sorry very sorry.” What said the principal I just came to say hi? “Oh” said Ahmad. Recess came his stomach started hurting. He sat down for the whole recess.

Class was started again. We were drawing “Ahmad draws awesome!” said our teacher. Ahmad sank down in his chair. One minute left of school. Ahmad said “Bye!” to me. He said that I’m his first friend that was a girl. I blushed.

One day Mr.D said that we are going to have a new student from Afghanistan! Mr.D also said that I am going to show Ahmad around school!

This is what happened. First, the phone rang. Mr.D said that Ahmad had to go to the kindergarten to help his sister, Abida. Even though was older than Ahmad, she went to kindergarten. Since Ahmad didn’t know where kindergarten was, I went with him. When we arrived at kindergarten, we found out what was the problem. Someone was pulling Abida’s head scarf. We solved the problem and went back to class. Then it was time for recess. I was playing wall ball. Ahmad wanted to play, so I taught him to play. I got out 7 times! Ahmad was really good at wall ball. Then the bell rang. We went inside and had a speed test. Ahmad didn’t know how to do it, so he ended up doing none. After that, we did our Lesson Assessment. Ahmad was really fast, so he worked on Type to Learn. When the bell rang, Ahmad stormed outside to play wall ball. We had writer’s workshop after recess. Ahmad wrote awesome stories! Even Mr.D was impressed! Then the bell rang.

When Ahmad heard the bell, he was ready to go home. Ahmad was really excited. So was I. I met a new friend. We said goodbye to each other. I like Ahmad. He’s a good kid.

Ahmad

Being at a new school makes Ahmad feel nervous. He
has a little sister named Abida. His cousin, Jasmine, is in middle school
and is helping Ahmad and Abida through school. I think Ahmad is going
to have fun and learn a lot in fourth grade G.A.T.E.

At school, he would probably make new friends. It will be hard, but when he comes out of his nervous shell he’ll make really good friends. Ahmad will be sitting in row 2.There are many people in row two so, he’ll make a lot of friends there. In row two there are 12 people including Ahmad.. What would happen also in Ahmad’s first day your asking? Someone would show him around the school of course.

Someone would show Ahmad where things are. Like when he needs to go to the bathroom show him it’s by the playground. When he needs to go to go to the office for something important tell him it’s by our room. If he wants to admire the garden tell him it’s across the office.

Then, Ahmad would learn things that the class would learn. He’ll learn math, writing, and art. He would learn a lot in school.
Ahmad is going to have a good day at Pony Express.

Ahmad and I

I took Ahmad and showed him the bathroom and told him to freeze when the bell rings. I told him if you have a ball to put it away on the first whistle and line up at Mr. D’s pole. I would also tell him to line up on the second whistle if you don’t have a ball.

On the first day of school, I took Ahmad around. While we were playing he said he had to go to the bathroom. I said okay. I told him where the bathroom is. When he got there, he accidentally went into the girls bathroom! I ran as fast as I could to get him out. Someone told the teacher. I told the teacher that he was new and didn’t know much. The teacher let him go.

The next day at recess we played soccer. We won, but we didn’t brag. I asked him if he had fun and he said yes. I said good. We were very good friends.

One day, a kid named Ahmad came to my school and I had to help him get through the day. He was from Afghanistan, but he had to move to U.S.A.

At recess, I showed Ahmad how to play soccer. He said in Afghanistan they played something like soccer and then he got home sick so we went inside.

At lunch, Ahmad was afraid of the food in America. I told him when you get used to it it wasn’t so bad. He poked at it and then he just quit.

At lunch recess , he played wall-ball. He was really good!We played that forever.

After lunch recess, it was silent reading time. He didn’t know how to read English, so he started to cry. I told him that later I would teach him, so he stopped crying.

At the end of the day, Ahmad thanked me. He said that he was eager to go to school tomorrow.

“Yes,” said Mr. D. “He’s from Afghanistan.”
“Okay?”
Later at lunchtime, I took Ahmad out of school. We took a boat around America. But, soon we got captured by evil PIRATES. Then we had a big battle. All of the sudden, I tripped on a monkey barrel! They trampled the pirates.

At recess, we played four square. He was good at it. He beat me. He beat me at least twenty times. Then, the bell rang. He was a good athlete.

Then, he had an early dismissal on the first day. Every one, felt sad. He walked out of the door feeling sad. Then, the rest of the day, I felt sad without him.
When I went home, I felt happy. I met a new friend, I had a happy day. It was great. For the rest of the day, I felt bored. Well, it was good to meet a good friend.

At first recess I showed Ahmad where the bathroom was. I also
taught Ahmad the school rules. He learned very quickly.
Later, I tried to teach Ahmad how to do the monkey- bars. Just when he started to get the hang of it a boy came up to us. He had dark brown hair and green eyes. He said his name was Charles.

“What do you want?” we asked.

“I want to ask Ahmad some questions,” replied Charles.

“He is right there,” I said.

Charles went to Ahmad. He asked him some questions and they talked. A little later Charles walked over to me. He said he wanted to ask me some questions now. I said okay. He asked me questions like “Does Ahmad have a criminal record?” Finally I said “What are you talking about? Ahmad has never been to jail, he’s never used dynamite, and he’s only nine!’’
After that he said “Oh” and left. He never came back. Ahmad and I looked at each other and kept playing.

Once Ahmad did finish his work, so he played soccer at recess.
Anyway, back to me helping Ahmad. I had to show him the school. I also taught him how to play basketball, wallball, and football. At the end of two weeks Ahmad was just a regular kid (not needing help.)

Then, it was time for recess. When we got to the playground he asked why there was a wall on the blacktop. I told him about wall ball and he won all the games we played. Can you believe it?

First, we were doing spelling definitions. I gave Ahmad a spelling list. I told him to write what the teacher was writing on the board. But then he started writing in his language. I told him to write in English. He started to write in English.

Finally, it was time for art. We learned how to use primary colors to make secondary colors. Then we were told to make a picture with the colors we made. Ahmad made a great picture of a castle. When he turned it in the teacher put it on his desk. Ahmad couldn’t believe it.

After art we cleaned up and went home. Ahmad couldn’t wait to go to school again. I’m glad I met Ahmad.

It was Ahmad’s first day of school. Ahmad was shy when he first got to school, and didn’t come because he was really nervous. Everyday Ahmad would get more nervous. He just went to school and was sitting in a seat. He didn’t really know what to do. It was different then his other school. I went up to him and said hi. Mr. Davis told me to show Ahmad around at recess.
First recess I showed Ahmad around at school. After a few minutes I showed him the bathroom. I showed him the playground, the office, the cafeteria, and some of the rooms. And then he really had to go to the bathroom. So, we ran because he had to go. I reminded him where the bathroom was. “The bathroom is different from where I was,” Ahmad said. I asked if he needed me. He said no and said he was OK.
We did our work. He was doing really well. He was very smart. It was time for lunch. I told Ahmad that we eat lunch at 12:00.
Second recess, I taught Ahmad the school rules and taught him all of the subjects. I also taught him to play four square and play on the monkey bars. He was learning very fast. The bell rung and we went back to class. We did our work and then the third recess we talked about school.
He really liked Pony Express.
Ahmad said “I really like being your friend.”

I said, “Me too.”

He was doing a good job in school, and was very smart. He learned lots of things in fourth grade. Ahmad is a good student.

Ahmad’s First Day of School
By: Elizabeth

Every day when I go to school it is always the same, but one day it was different. There was a new boy in my classroom and his name was Ahmad. He was from Afghanistan. Ahmad looked very scared and nervous. When my teacher, Mr. D. asked everybody who wanted to take Ahmad through his first day, I was the only one to raise my hand. The surprised Mr. Davis said “Okay.” Then secretly said to me, “good gob.”

Mr. D pulled a chair next to me and I taped his name tag were it belonged. Ahmad pulled out the chair next to me. I got out of my seat and got two spelling papers out of the bin.
“What are these for?” asked Ahmad.

You have to right the definitions for them,” I replied.

“How will I know what they are,” Ahmad questioned.

“Mr. D will write them on the overhead,” I said. After writing down the spelling definitions it was recess time. During recess I had to show Ahmad the whole school. First, I showed him where the girls and boys went to the bathroom. We had to wait a awhile because he had to go to the bathroom. Then I showed him were the cafeteria, the classrooms, and were the 4th R was. After recess we had to write a story about a castle. Ahmad wrote a story about a haunted castle. It was a pretty good story. After that we had lunch recess. Then we had to do silent reading. Ahmad and me were reading the same Greek Mythology book. It was about Heracles and his twelve labors. Then it was time to go home. Ahmad said this was the best day of his life and I agreed.

I was one out of seven people who had been here since kindergarten why me so now I have to show some new kid around the school and waste my first recess showing some new kid around although it is only ten min long so hay I’ll do it after all it couldn’t be that bad. So I made a list of things that we could do so when I got to school we had fun with art and P.E. Also he’s a wiz at math and when the week was over he said to me you’re my BFF.
